“Get Together” – The Youngbloods

This song as was a cut above the flock during its day, peaking out at #5. The guitars
sounded wonderful and the vocals had an eerie and melancholy quality. The subject
matter was very relevant and right in your face asking you to participate. Have you ever
heard The Kingston Trio do “Let’s Get Together”? Jesse Colin Young had a run of his
own a few years later and made a very cool one-hit-wonder called “Songbird” done in
the ‘mellow’ style which we may do somewhere down the road after we’ve had a good
run ourselves with the current song lineup.
